Overthrust Loop Expansion Project

Project Description

Questar Overthrust Pipeline Company (Overthrust), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Questar Pipeline Company (Questar), is filing with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) an Application for a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity for Overthrust’s proposed Ovethrust Loop Expansion Project (Loop Expansion). Overthrust proposes to construct, install, own, operate, and maintain approximately 43 miles of 36-inch-diameter steel pipeline that is generally located adjacent to existing pipeline facilities, in order to provide expanded interstate natural gas transportation service on a non-discriminatory, open-access basis. The proposed Loop Expansion will allow Overthrust to transport up to 800,000 decatherms per day (Dth/d) of natural gas from the existing Rock Springs Compressor Station southwest of Rock Springs in Sweetwater County, Wyoming (Township 18 North, Range 106 West, Section 24) westbound to Overthrust’s existing Cabin 31 station in Uinta County, Wyoming (Township 18 North, Range 112 West, Section 15). The project will facilitate deliveries to Kern River Gas Transmission Company and eventual deliveries to Wyoming Interstate Company, Ltd.’s proposed Ruby Pipeline.

Overthrust is proposing to begin construction in May, 2010 in order to meet an in service date of November, 2010.
